This is most likely the first picture I ever took. I was about  7 years old and had pinched the family camera and taken it to school camp.

These are my friends lined up on the river bank and waiting to jump in on my command so I can take the shot. Its very out of focus I know, but it was a start and these days I am much better.

I did not realise it until I found this pic in an old album but this is probably the start of my infatuation with photography, either that or the meticulous family albums my grandmother kept that I would trawl through on family visits, it could also have been the massive stack of National Geographic magazines we had at home.

Its a career that allows me to combine two great things, meeting  people and travelling. Other than playing cricket for Australia or being in a jazz band its the only career I have ever wanted.
